Art Deco Platinum Diamond and Sapphire Plaque Bracelet

An Art Deco platinum diamond bracelet with openwork edges. The bracelet is slightly graduated with a marquise diamond center, accented with calibré-cut sapphires and antique-cut diamonds. Circa 1920. 

About the time period: Art Deco emphasized geometric design, abstract pattern and exotic motifs, leaving behind the sensuous curves and soft colors of the nineteenth century. Craftsmen embraced modern streamlined designs, with geometric gemstone cuts and bold color combinations taking center stage.
